The Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE), together with the Nairobi Convention within the
Western Indian Ocean (WIO) Large Marine Ecosystems (LME) with the technical and administrative support of the BCC, have agreed to strategic cooperation to implement demonstration projects regarding Land – Sea Interaction (LSI) planning for a coordinated Ocean and Coastal Ecosystem Management approach in South Africa. The Workshop will serve as an initial project launch to introduce the project’s “aims and objectives” to stakeholders for the realization of the LSI in South Africa.
