The Benguela Current Commission (BCC) is a multi-sectoral inter-governmental, initiative of Angola, Namibia and South Africa. It promotes the vision of the Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem (BCLME) sustaining human and ecosystem well-being for generation after generation.

BCC Ecofish Project 6:28

With funds from the Europe Union, the ECOFISH Project compiled and quality assured all available trawl survey data for hake collected through the past 20 years in South Africa and Namibia into a huge dataset of 8000 trawl hauls.

BCLME 6:26

LMEs are described as relatively large bodies of water (200,000 sq. km) with distinctive bathymetry, hydrography, productivity and trophically dependent populations.
